The use of free softwares, although necessary, is not a sufficient condition to the development of E-democracy

Alexandre ZAPOLSKY is the founder and General Managing Director of Linagora. In only five years, Linagora has emerged as the leader on the French Free Softwares market.

Mr ZAPOLSKY participates to many seminars and conferences on questions relative to the Free Softwares economy. Author of numerous articles on the subject, he's one of the specialists of the Free Softwares market. To the initiative of the "Soci�t�s de Service en Logiciels Libres", he created in 2004, the Association of the SS2L, or the ASS2L, of which he's president. For the ASS2L, militant association and citizen of professionals, "The use of free softwares, although necessary, is not a sufficient condition to the development of E-democracy."

We are professionals and we wish to engage ourselves as an actor of the Community's life. We believe in e-democracy and its vertues. Of course, we are not idealists. The development of e-democracy can trigger a certain number of problems. We do not hide ourselves from these difficulties. We simply wish to open debates on questions too often ignored. Those questions regarding the tools that allow e-democracy to develop. We think we must imperatively build a e-democracy of confidence based on Free Softwares.
